My mom saved the day today with these gems. I was a kid to pre teen in the 70s so I
kind of remember some of these styles. The ones that follow though from the 80s? Oh, I remember them
really well,
too well. I'd like to think I was laughing at these fashion absurdities even then, but sadly, I doubt it.
 |
| I am ashamed to admit that my mom made my sisters and I very similar pjs as kids, minus the bonnet and booties; thank God for small miracles. |
 |
| Read the red box: You couldn't find anyone better looking than the Manson brothers to make your point? |
 |
| Ah Men? More like Amen that this fashion statement's time in the sun is over. |
 |
| "You know it's hard out here for a pimp..." |
 |
| Star Trek called, they want their uniforms back. |
 |
| Yeah, things happen. Like women running away screaming in fear. |
 |
| $95 for that coat? Whatever the price it is too much. |
 |
| Open mesh underwear, now why didn't I think of that? Look how high on his waist the guy in yellow is wearing in boxers, he's gonna hurt himself. |
 |
| Men In Belted Sweaters. Sounds like some kind of exposé. |
 |
| Your thinking the jumpsuit is the funny part, but no, read the print. "Quick as a flick of her tongue", "She'll eat you alive in it", um, think again. Who wrote this shit? |
Let's take a trip to the 80s, shall we?
 |
| Hello parachute pants, how I've missed you....not. |
 |
| Surf Wear? I'm guess my peeps in Hawaii would say, "no". |
 |
| Nothing need be said. |
 |
| I love the fake 5 o'clock shadow. |
 |
| BA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!! |

Thanks for the Friday mental scars, Regina!
;)
(great as always!)
OH MY...those are some stylish clothes!! Ha ha!
awesomeness. men in belted sweaters?! pure awesomeness.
My eyes, my eyes!!! OMG.
The "one easy piece" had me rolling... "are you man enough to fill it?" hahahahaha!
Is it just me or was there a part of the 70's where women designers were trying to get men to wear women's clothes?
whoa! are we going to be in like 2040 thinking how foolish we looked in 2011? I think so!
I laugh over the belted swaters!!! Glad you enjoyed!! <3
More love for belted sweaters! :)
Said it before, say it again, at least in the 70's men wore the waist of their pants at their waist instead of around their knees. I'd rather see a guy in a jumpsuit than some fool with his pants on the ground!
Freaking hysterical!!
Just found you from Smart bitches. This is hilarious and thank you so much for posting. I really needed a good laugh today and you certainly delivered.
Aw, baby Mark Pellegrino is in that horrible denim jacket.
BAHAHAHA! I laughing so hard I'm crying. The sad thing is that as a child of the 70's I remember all of those looks, and yes, I had a pair of pj's like those too. Lmao!
Wait! I hear KC and the Sunshine band playing in the background!
I am slain.
Wow... the jumpsuits are the CLASSIC 70's disco image.
I still like the poly shirts with patterns... but I prefer a smaller collar these days.
And the last of the cotton mesh undies just died last year - great for the long hot days of sumer before everyone had AC.
But damn, the cravats and pimp-wear look silly. As does everything from Eleganza.
And I've never seen real people in the belted sweaters look.
My wife and I had a college roommate who actually wore Eleganza. He also used to do the disco hustle across the living room on his way to a date and brought girls back to the house to have quiche and make out on his tiger-striped fake fur love seat.
I love the 70s.

It is impressive how fashion has been changing specially in sports. I didn't expect that it was so weird before.
